Walking in Scotland
To explain a bit about myself I am a business man who lives in the Bolton area (Lancashire) and I also love sports and music. I have setup this blog to show you one of my true loves in life, walking. My first few postings on this blog will be about my recent walks in the Yorkshire Dales and Scotland mainly on the islands of Mull and Skye. My most recent walk was in the Cullin hills in the south of the Isle of Skye, I don't know why they are called hills they look more like the misty mountains in The Lord of the Rings and definately provided some challenging walks. Just to start with for you more hardy walkers when I go walking most of the time I walk with my 2 year old son Tyler strapped to my back and a quantity of food and water all told about 20Kg in weight which makes the walk more difficult but I like it that way. I hiked 3 times in 3 days on Skye. one walk on the south ward heading path from Glenbrittle, one up Sgurr Alasdair and finaly up the Old Man of Storr here are some pictures of the walk up to the Storr and of the west end of the Cullin ridge photos taken from Glenbrittle and the southeast path from Glenbrittle. Anyway if you get a chance to go to the isle of Skye, Do its stunning. In my next post I will write a little about the Isle of Mull then about the Yorkshire Dales lime stone formations and finaly about my home town hill Winter hill where all you people who live in the northwest of England get your television fix transmited from. c ya soon :-)
